What's Involved

We build flat roofs in EPDM rubber or the Lava 20 torch-on system. EPDM goes down as one sheet over a new deck, usually 18mm OSB, with new trims round the edges. Lava 20 is a torch-on membrane that suits a new flat roof or an old felt roof that is still sound underneath.

Rooflights, skylights and lanterns can go in during the same job, with the upstands detailed into the rubber.

EPDM or Lava 20?

EPDM rubber: one membrane, fully bonded to a new deck, with edge trims. It suits extensions, garages, dormers and big roofs with rooflights.
Lava 20: a torch-on membrane. Where an old felt roof is structurally sound it can go straight over it, which saves stripping it off and keeps the cost down.
On a full strip we can add insulation under the new deck: 75mm went in on a large roof in Allestree.
Coping stones come off and are re-bedded, so the edge of the roof is watertight too.

105 square metres with a hidden gutter

A 105 m² EPDM roof, fully bonded, with a hidden EPDM-lined front gutter, one large and two smaller rooflights, and raised parapet walls detailed all round.

A conservatory turned into a room

The old conservatory roof came off for a new timber roof covered in EPDM with lead flashings, new fascia and guttering, and the inside insulated, plasterboarded and skimmed by our own team.

Insulated from the deck up in Allestree

Stripped off, 75mm insulation, new 18mm OSB and an EPDM covering, with the hips re-bedded and pointed.

An asbestos garage roof, replaced

After a specialist team made the old asbestos roof safe, we fixed new timbers to the metal frame, boarded it in OSB, glued down EPDM and fitted new white fascia.
