How soon can you start?
It depends on what is already booked in when you get in touch. Send us a few details about the job and we will come back to you with when we can fit it in.
When do I pay?
No final payment is taken until you are happy with the finished job.
Will you tell me I need a new roof?
Only if it really does. We look for the actual problem rather than the easiest thing to change, and if a roof can be repaired, we will say so and go with the cheaper option where that is possible. See roof repairs.
The Work
How long will my roof take?
As a guide, a standard 64 m² roof takes around five working days, Monday to Friday. Smaller jobs are quicker: a full new roof and a rebuilt chimney top in Langley Mill took four days. We give you an estimate for your own roof when we quote.
What goes under the new tiles?
On a full re-roof we strip the old covering, lay a breathable membrane, fix new 25x50 treated timber battens and fit eaves support trays, then finish with dry ridge and dry verge systems. You can see it at each stage on our Smalley and Loscoe jobs.
What tiles do you use?
Whatever suits the house. Recent roofs have gone on in Double Roman tiles in Smalley and Leicester, Ludlow tiles over a house and its extension, grey Ashmore tiles in Loscoe, and large concrete tiles in Langley Mill.
Do you do flat roofs?
Yes. We fit EPDM rubber roofs with new perimeter trims, and the Lava 20 torch-on system where that suits the job better. Roof lanterns and roof windows can go in at the same time. See flat roofing.
Can you fit roof windows?
Yes. VELUX roof windows go in with the correct flashing kit, so the window and the tiles shed water together, and we build dormers too. See dormers and roof windows.
Do you repair chimneys?
Yes: repointing, rebuilding the top courses, re-flaunching the top so it stays weather-tight, and new lead flashing around the base. See chimneys and leadwork.
Do you repoint brickwork?
Yes. We grind out the old, cracked mortar, clean the joints and repoint, as we did on a block of flats in Leicester. We also take on joinery that is part of a roofing job.
Will you leave a mess?
No. In Josh's words, all the team want to do is give the customer exactly what they are asking for: a great roof at a great price, with no mess left behind.

Yes. We hold £2 million public liability insurance, and every new roof we fit comes with a 10-year guarantee.
